The anticipation was killing me, to see how much my tubster had given up since rolling off the Toyota production line 15 years ago.
So, I went along to the Toyota dyno day at East Coast Customs this morning to find out once and for all how bad it was.
There was a good turnout including one other MR2 whose owner has serious plans for modding. He's got £3k worth of parts to go in to start with and he already has a 400bhp+ glanza (I think). Dont worry, I handed a card out
So back to my car ... I met up with John, said hello and he bumped me up the list ahead of a few other 'boy racers'. About 3 cars after I arrived it was time and John gently got my mister 2 onto the rollers.

All of a sudden I started to get a weird feeling, what if it come out at 150hp or something ridiculous ... I mean .... what level of slagging would I get from Ray :)
John started her off and done two tests, one in third and one in fourth I think. The results were surprising in a good way as my only appears to be about 5hp down on its factory spec. This with the only mod being an Apexi air filter

fairly smooth curves as well, especially on the third gear run.
I'm really chuffed, but now I'm immediately tempted to start looking for more power :maybe:
I have a video of the first run that I will post once its uploaded to P'bucket.
ECC has an excellent set-up with a massive garage. I think I will try to arrange a MR2 day there next year and maybe try to get a few of the other MR2 clubs involved. I was slightly disappointed that I didn't to take the yellow EVO out for a spin ... it was being worked on, but it is some serious piece of kit close up and especially under the bonnet.
@John ECC: thanks for the warm welcome this morning and I'll see you soon
