I have a Gemini car alarm which came with my 2. The key fob button is tight so a real pain to use. Can anyone recommend a replacement fob or a good alarm (not too expensive). I read about the Clifford G5 alarm and the price seems ok and Clifford are pretty good from what I know...which ain't a lot!

I think Rob had a Clifford but he just changed to something else. He might chime in with his experience on that...

If you're suffering from lag, you're either in the wrong gear or the wrong car!

Yeah, I had a Clifford Avantgard with loads of options but the remote start module and c/l modules failed and it was going to cost me a lot to replace.

So, I got a pager / remote start alarm. 400 quid supplied and fitted. Lad is an auto electrician and ex-mr2 owner. Dropped it to him early on a Sat morning and he had it ready by about 3.

He's based in Kildare.

Thanks for the info.

Situation is now critical as my Gemini Car Alarm has kicked in and won't release my 2 from its grip. I've tried my fob and also the master key to turn it off. The alarm came with the car and played up on the first day I bought it. I came to a stop and most of the road coming out past Heuston station at 5:30 pm on a Friday!!!!!! LOL, eventually got home at 2am....

Anyway have any experience of the following guys in Galway city:

Auto Electrical Concepts
MJ Systems
Autolux
In Car Technology

Thanks
Mike

I got the clifford arrow 5.1 from the same fella as dan and was very impressed with his price . (and the fact he came over to my house to get the car running after the ancient foxguard alarm packed up and the immobiliser got the better of me)

All of life’s problems can be solved with two things—duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn’t, you need duct tape. And if it doesn’t move and it should, you need WD40

Thanks for that.

I am thinking about the Clifford G5 5.1 fitted at 260 euro or the Meta HPA 3.5 fitted for 320 euro. Any suggestions?

I have to replace the battery as it is dead and it looks like it is the original one that came with the car, making it 15 years old or else it was replaced when it shipped to Ireland!!!!!
