My car has laid low for around a year now and the discs are quite rough. Has anybody got any experience with getting their brake discs skimmed to remove pitting etc who, where, and how much.

i know a lad who can put designs into standard discs he maybe able to skim to ill find out if he still does.

ye i know a lad he on another forum but he can skim and also do grooves if you want let me know if you intrested and ill get all the details for ya.

Got your PM will ring him soon, not going for grooves just skimming. Don't think cutting grooves in disc's not designed for it would be wise IMO.

I have 4 discs in the garage if you want them Ray £free I took them off at chrismas for groved discs

For brake skimming, all engine works, repairs, upgrades, tuning, accessories (gauges, pods, exhausts etc), body work (paint, crash repair and fitting of kits) Wheel alignment, EVERYTHING, I highly recommend AC Cars & Performance. The owner, Alan Carroll, is a very good friend of mine. They are primarily a BMW specialist. BMW send cars to him that they cant fix. He does all the work on my M3 and all BMW's I have had in the past. They are absolutely first class. A coil pack went in my M3 on Monday. BMW would have charged me hundreds plus they would have taken a week to get the part from Munich, but the lads in AC Performance had the part in stock. I had the car back, driving better than ever, more power and sounding sweet, fully serviced with new 10W60 Edge oil and filter by Tuesday afternoon. They only charged me 100euro for the coil pack fitted and all. The total cost was 363euro, but thats mostly the oil, its 20euro a liter cost as its racing spec oil.

Ask for Alan or Ritchie. I can probably organise a show day for one Sunday. He is doing that for one or two clubs now. It would be like a mini-meet, we could all meet up, cruise to his place and he can do demos like skimming a brake disc etc, to show us how its done.

What do you all think? I can organise that pretty easy. Would be a nice / new / different venue for a mini-meet anyway....

Cheers! Yeah the booth is brand new, only recently installed. All part of an ever expanding operation. His next move is laser wheel alighment kit.

Anyway, yeah, drop in to them and have a look around. Even tomorrow if you have an hour two to spare. They just fully sprayed a scooby today. Its their own car they are doing up for track and advertisement. Tuned to death. They are also building a 200SX track car with roll cage etc. They have loads of their own projects they mess around with.

For example, they are transplanting an M5 engine into an old E30 coupe.
They are putting an E46 M3 engine into an old 5 series and an E36 M3 lump in to an E30 estate. All just for funsies.
