Hi all its been a while since i posted anything interesting but here is something ill be working on slowly, it will probably be done next year as im working on a complete RX7 rebuild now and all the funds are going towards that.
Anyway here is the little teaser, i bought a 98 2.2L camry with 150K on it the plan is to build a stroker and shoot for 1000bhp.
Here are some pics of the car when i bought it

I went ahead to remove the engine since storing that uses up less space than storing the whole car.

Pulled the head off, pistons seem to be low compression you should be able to bolt a turbo straight on.

some crank balancing assembly in the sump

crank and shell bearings seem to be in pretty good condition looks like engine just finished the break in procedure.

Yeah i was thinking things were a bit too quiet here.
All i can do for now is look at what i have and do some research on what ill need to buy when i get some funds.
The crank is out and notice that there are no oil squirters to squirt oil up into the pistons that will have to get done at an engineering place.
Also the stationary shell bearings which hold the crank in place are same as on a 2L block, the rod shell bearings are bigger on the 2.2 crank.

Since i wont be using the heavy counterweight assembly the gear can come off the crank

definitely a 5S

REV3 turbo intake cam
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
REV3 NA intake cam
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Exhaust cams same on both

The rev3 na head clearly has higher lift intake cams, unless i can get a beams head ill be using the NA head.

everything test fitted and all seems to fit together very well.
Ill be doing more research in the mean time before i continue with the build, im thinking might go with an altezza head which has dual vvti.
