I'd always check the coolant pipes, they run from the rear all the way under the car to the Frunk, they are an absolute bitch to swap out, I ended up replacing mine at the time to 19mm robber hosing instead. Bring it for a 10 minute spin and when you get out put your hand around each alloy to see if there is any excess heat, calliper will cost 100 to 150 each and are known to wear after around 15yrs (not always). Ask when the timing belt was changed, and then look around the timing belt and if it was imported from japan there will be mileage in klms usually written in white on the cover of it when it was changed in japan. Prob a 500 to 700 for timing belt change, 90% of that is the labour as the engine will normally be lifted out to get at it

80klms is safe and or every 5yrs, although it is a non interference timing belt which means if it does go it "shouldnt" wreck the engine,

Well good news & bad. i fit in an mr2! car wasn't great & he had it running when i got there so couldn't start it from cold. alternator shagged, Arial not rising, paint on the rear bumper was much worse than it looked in pics. got a pretty delboyish vibe off the place. all in all not a fantastic first drive of an mr2 but hopefully there's a clean one out there for me

Sorry to hear that. That's the trouble with dondedeal unfortunately. There are a lot of rough ones ou tthere but clean ones do crop up from time to time. Just be patient cos for that kind of money you could get a really nice one.

Yea it was the mileage that attracted me & the fact that its a relatively big dealer, cos i was hoping to trade my 3 series in and get a bit of cash too

Looks nice & clean alright, but Im a bit of a picky fecker unfortunitely, I want one in either red or black. (Mr2 has always been a bit of a dream car for me so theres no point half assing it imo)
