I am putting a feeler out to see who would want a heated windscreen for their MKII SW20.

As far as I am aware, the Toyota MR2 SW20 never had the option of a heated windscreen.

Ford had the option for some of their cars. This would help defrost and demist the windscreen far quicker than just waiting for the engine to heat the coolant up for the internal heater fan.

Also a lot of rally and track cars use heated windscreens because the vehicle heating components have been removed to reduce weight.

The screens are fully e-marked .

A straight forward electrical diy job.

Take a fused supply from the battery to a relay.

A fused trigger supply from a ignition switch, so it is only on when the car is running.

Relay connections: 87 to heated windscreen. 30 to fused positive battery. 85 to ground . 86 to fused on/off switch ignition.

It would take 3-4 months to produce these once the order has been placed

5 units - price each £320

10 units - price each £300

15 units - price each £290

Interesting!wanted to remove the aircon in my old tubby but the no windscreen defrosting element changed my mind about it but thats a pretty good idea in fairness.

what colour will the windscreens be then we'll hardly have the option of bronze tinted ones for jap cars will we?

any idea on the total weight of the mr2 aircon system aswell ive read around 30 kg's if so that would be a great saving.i'd definitely be interested

I could ask about different colour windscreens, but my gut is telling me that it would probably cost more.

I have no idea what the air conditioning system weighs.

They can do tinted windscreens, but you would also need a group that wanted tinted windscreens the same colour.

I would do it, but we would need 10 to make this viable.

otherwise best stick with clear for everybody.

Once the order has been placed I cannot add an extra heated windscreen if someone is late with their order, sorry.

Due to the extra expense of having these heated windscreens shipped to Ireland the Irish group buy will have to be counted as separate.

We will need five buyers in Ireland to make this happen.

Shipping of five heated windscreens would cost £150 which would be split five ways.

I would be willing to deliver these myself if the fuel cost is also split five ways.

One heated windscreen for the mkII SW20 will be made available next week. The windscreen is in the UK so you would need to pay for shipping too.

Price is £320.00 sterling for just the heated windscreen.

This would be ideal for someone stripping their MR2 to make it lightweight, as you would not need the demister any more.

Was keeping an eye on this as an ignored stone chip turned crack so I need a new windscreen.

Would probably come in at almost 600 before fitting however. Really nice bit of kit though

I was looking for a courier last night. The cheapest was TNT at £120.00.

If we had a group buy for five it would have worked out at about £30.00 per screen.
