So I was walking towards the Blanchardstown mall today and all I heard was this louder than usual car coming up and when I looked it was Rob's Spyder. I heard the Turbo boosting and I was surprised...didn't know he had it done. Since it was a turbo I have to say he was driving at the rate of speed any Turbo should be driven.

I will get one when insurance companies let me. It's not easy to insure one when you're under 25.

Call Campion sparrow brokers, they will get you a policy. At least get a Micra or something so you can get your no claims bonus building up

That is actually my plan. But luckily again I live walking distance to my new company and I was checking online quotes for a 1 liter car and it's 1500 a year and if I apply for that when I am 25 I would pay "only" 900 euros per year. It's a big difference...

If you call axa or campion sparrow you might get a better quote than just checking online. Another thing to consider is sometimes the brokers have group insurance deals that you can avail of. For instance once I was able to insure my MR2 at a cheaper rate because I was an IT engineer. I did not have to join a society etc etc, but it was just a 'special deal' that the broker happened to have access to in that particular year.

My insurance stayed at around 700-750 for a goo few years. This year I got a renewal for only 397 ! That was through 123.ie, with RSA underwriting the policy.

But, as Quandry said - don't assume all the best quotes are online

Wow paying 397 a year for a turbo MR2 lol...that's the best I've heard.
I guess I have to call companies then, I just moved to Dublin but I think I will be staying for a bit so I'm seriously thinking about getting something and then a MR2 again of course. Message me if you go for a drink nearby. Take care guys!
