I would put my name in for this, but hopefully won't have an MR2 by that stage. I would be out in either the Corolla or Saxo Stockhatch, if ye are accepting the non MR2 rif raf

It wont be all MR2's we have to be realistic .. While it would be nice to achieve a full MR2 Grid it just wont happen ... Put the name down ... and get as many names as possible .. Just keep the drifters & messers off the track ... Most of the guys will be first timers and will be nervous enough without drifters and messers ...

I am planning this as a days timetable ...

9:30 - 10:00 Training Laps with experienced drivers
10:00 - 10:30 Novice Session
10:30 - 11:00 Open Session
11:00 - 11:30 Novice Session
11:30 - 13:00 Open Session

13:00 - 14:00 Lunch / BBQ & Chin wag (No Driving)

13:30 - 14:00 Mondello Sign In (for those who didnt get up early)
14:00 - 14:30 Novice Session
14:30 - 15:00 Open Session
15:00 - 15:30 Novice Session
15:30 - 17:00 Open Session

Personally i wouldn't segregate groups into Novices and Non Novices. I would all for giving them a 20-30min session at the start so they could get a grounding and learn the track.

My experience of club/group days is that people tend to have more manners, I think if you have the right people you shouldn't have the need to segregate the groups. As long as people are given room to do there thing, and if every keeps an eye to their mirrors there should be no issues with mixing novices and experienced drivers.

Just my two cents, but ill go anyway. Will be great fun if its wet

I used to not go to wet trackdays, i thought i would sh!t myself. I was at one and it started to rain after lunch, i had decided that i wasn't going out in the wet, worked up the courage after some pretty brutal clucking in my direction, I had a ball by the end i was drifting out of dunlop like a pro . You learn so much about car control after a wet session, and it will pay off on the road.

Just a note to all the novices, the kink on the back straight before 7A, you need to keep some power on until after the car is through or you may get some snap oversteer, i had the Mrs go very slidey on me by not keeping small power on.

That said the biggest angle i have ever go to around mondello was in the saxo on entry into dunlop. Remember the great thing about Mondello is there is very little to hit, you have huge run-off areas.

OK guys ... There is a Trackday on the 10th of next month with Octane Track Days ... Its 150 euro ... Octane crowd are a good bunch of guys and dont allow any messing .. They normally have the odd Ferrari on track ... It is not looking like we will make the numbers to do our own trackday ... so who is up for doing this one ???

That's unfortunate. That's great value but I won't be able to make next month
