Hey guys,

What you think is a sensible price for this car:

www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-car...rue-one-off/1553877#

A rough idea of what you would expect it to go for in today's market. I am kinda tempted by the car to be honest just not at 9k

IMO its a really nice example and has likely had the asking price spent on it between body work and engine mods but I personally wouldn't pay 9k for it just because I don't think you'd get close to that money back again if you did buy it and then planned on selling it on again.
Topguns TRD kitted car went for around £6k and that ended up going to Germany. I'd personally only pay close to that kind of money for an mr2 if was a concourse freshly imported rev 5 with dealer miles or a genuine TRD kitted car as these are they only cars I believe would retain some of that value.
At the end of the day a car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it!

I'd have to agree with Infamous on the price of circa stg£6k. The UK Market seems a lot stronger price-wise than over here. If the car was on sale in Ireland, I can't imagine somebody paying €6k in euros so i'd bear that in mind if thinking of selling the car on after a year or two. Also, if I can remember correctly, the VRT will be higher as the car has a lot of modifications to it and the tax man will want a bigger bite out of your wallet!! I'm sure one of the members can go into more detail re: VRT. In saying that, the car is a beauty.

Thats kid of the price figure I was thinking myself and even then thats high in the current market. Its a really well sorted 2 and it just shows money into cars pretty much means your not getting it back. Its a sad but true fact unless the car is avintage or something very special.

Also it only has the standard diff as far as I can tell so that be something I'd want to change adding to the costs lol

Oh well I can dream anyways as I dont think he wants to sell for below asking more likely to strip her sucha shame if it happens

It will never get that kind of money.
you don't spend big sums like that and expect to get it back most people would prefer a standard car you only MOD to keep it.

This is a pretty personalised mr2. The owner thinks that this is an awesome mr2 and worth 9 grand, and others won't.

Nobody is right, but he does have a very small market of people to work with. Basically mr2 enthusiasts that like that sort of thing.

I love mr2 and appreciate the effort went into this car, but nine grand will get my mr2 to the spec that I want that's personal to me.

Also I would kill everybody on this board for 9 grand. Pm me for details.

Thanks guys for the replies I agree with where everyone is coming from.

Harper I was just thinking along the lines of if you bought her and sold the current car the overall cost, a proper engine rebuild unless doing it onslef will easily run 7-9k for parts.

But in current climate its alot of amoney for an mr2.

There's a forged car in NI for sale atm for 1/3 of the price of the one you posted.

Obviously it doesn't have the bodykit and bride seats etc but you could buy this car, style it to your own taste and still have plenty of change from £9K!
