I have a 5 years NCB issued just over 2.5 years ago and haven't held an insurance policy since. I'm looking to insure a car now but all the insurance companies are saying the NCB must be issued in the last 2 years. Does anyone know of an insurance company/broker that will accept an NCB issued over 2.5 years ago? I don't mind paying through the ass for a policy that accepts my NCB if it means I'll have 6 years NCB at the end of it.

Try Aaron insurance Mark - Friend of mine was in a similar predicament pretty sure they honoured the NCB

Cheers Ciaran, I'm getting quotes of ~€1,900 without my NCB so I'd gladly pay them a similar price if I can get 6 years NCB at the end of it.

I thought the name sounded familiar, my sister (Jen) used to work for them!

Didn't answer til now because I didn't know myself! Was getting screwed on the insurance so just bought a Focus, got an alright quote with Aviva and rang them to clarify a few things and they said they'll honour my 5 years NCB because I had named driving experience in the UK I'll probably keep the focus for 6 months til the garage warranty runs out and then have a look around. I certainly wouldn't say no to another mr2 but I've been looking at altezza's and accords too.
