Tyre Pressure 3 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 3
Just wondering what tyre pressure do you have front and back, was looking my MRS manual and l think it was 30psi front for 195/50R15 and 32psi for 205/50R15 back, but l have 205/50R15 front and back there at 32psi both

What do you put your tyres at and are mine that the right psi
Thanks in advance

2psi will make very little difference. The reason for higher pressures at the rear is because of the weight of the engine.

it won't really make much diference

A general rule, if u have more pressure you will have less tyre on the road and less pressure the tyre saggs more and have more tyre on the road.

however this is minimal. you really wont notice the difference unless you go crazy and drop psi to 12 or up to 50 or something.

I'd just stick with the standard pressures in your handbook. I'd also be looking at changing your front tyres to the correct size

I normally run about 4 to 6 PSI of a differential with the higher to the rear. I also change the pressure depending on the seasons.

Summer Front: 30-32 PSI Rear: 34 to 36 PSI

Winter Front: 28-30 PSI Rear: 32 to 34 PSI

IMO it makes a difference and can help feel (or lack) when things are about to go hairy with the back of the car.

Of course there are a huge amouunt of variances (tyre profile, sidewall strength, grip of rubber, tyre age, etc) in this and it is down to driver feel and what you want the car to drive like.

Thise figures are from my mrk II it is really down to the driver at the end of the day, but don't be afraid to try different setting. However I would always keep the higher pressure to the rear on an MR car.

Hmm, I'd better check my pressure, mine is the facelift model but I'm pretty sure it has 15" rears!
