Insurance WTF ?!?

Insurance WTF ?!? 10 Months ago Karma: 37
Not really a rant here but my insurance company told me they will not be able to cover me in my MR2 when renewal is due because it's 25 years old and there policy says so ?!?

I cant seem to get a quote anywhere due to the same reason

I use my car everyday and only own this car and no others so classic isn't really an option...

Anyone know where I can get a quote???

There has to be someone out there that would insure you surely?

What you could to is transfer your insurance to another family members car and then take out a classic policy on the MR2. If it's 25 years old then I'd say a classic policy might only cost you 150 euro. It's only third party but at least you would be able to drive it.

If you call Axa (not go through the website) or call Campion Sparrow, they will get you a policy.

Anyone any experience with Quinn this year?

Yea I'm with Quinn. Insurance was up on the 8 July. Last year was £1290, this year 799. Not bad.

Changed to the MR2 just before renewal with quinn.
Went to the office and got it for €650 TPFT 22,3 years full,2 years ncb and 3 named driving

I'm with Quinn and they are very reasonable, but they don't insure cars that are over 20 years old, not on a new policy anyway.

I have my jeep insured as my daily driver with them and got classic insurance on the 2. I did have a battle though because technically it's not 20 years old till next year! I did approach the Axa stand at Mondello during the summer and explained the situation to them and the kind fellow said he'd look after me. I guess he didn't think I'd follow it up Campion & sparrow did quote me €320 also!
