and it's good to see

In 1993 I was an 11-year-old aspiring car-nerd. I had a lot of car posters on my bedroom wall.

About four years back, I decided to buy a car from one of those posters.

He's right though there's just an amazing character about MR2's?? can't really seem to put my finger on it though..

If you're suffering from lag, you're either in the wrong gear or the wrong car!

Very nice read. I agree, I've owned 7 different cars and something just feels special about the 2.

You can really tell how much thought and effort went into making them. The patented Toyota "ball-cooler" (vent aimed at a gentleman's special zone for warm days), turning fog lights, 245 bhp in a tiny car, flip up headlights, mid engined, raised centre console. I love it all!

I think part of the character comes from the relative rarity.

Imagine how rare our cars will be in 5-10 years. Lots of the earlier not cared for rev1s and rev2s won't have people wanting to put money to get them back into shape.

So, a huge amount will just be scrapped. And our cars will turn heads even more

And the rest of the character comes from the popup headlights !

End result? The little beast now gurgles to life with a loud drone that penetrates into nearby buildings and goes like all hell when opened up — after a good moment or two worth of turbo lag.

I liked that bit!

Get it right, and it’s like driving a go-kart. Get it wrong, and the MR2 will likely plow into whatever is ahead of it, or park itself backwards in the ditch on the other side of the road.

That is probably the reason I love them, the price of getting it wrong makes getting it right of utmost importance.
