Gaming,design,fixing other puters
Anything I want it to really but I still need to upgrade. Getting another HD6870 GPU, replace the 4gb 1333mhz ram with 8gb 1866mhz ram and a bigger PSU (1000w or more if i can convince the other half to allow a 3rd 6870 lol)

If its only EVE you'll need to spend very little

Recommended Specs
OS: Windows® XP Service Pack 2 / Vista / 7
CPU: Intel Pentium® or AMD dual core @ 2 Ghz or greater which supports SSE2
RAM: 2 GB
HD space: 6gig Free Space
Network: ADSL connection or faster
Video: Shader Model 3.0 Graphics cards
Drivers: DirectX® 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers
DVD-ROM : 2 speed DVD reader or greater required.

But I would build beyond that to future proof it a wee bit.

You'd get the below for €667 delivered to your door, all you'd need is a keyboard, mouse and a Windows operating system, you can buy it,use a copy or wait until someone is throwing out a pc and get the code off it.

Iiyama ProLite E2208HDD 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.20GHz (Socket AM3)
XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 Single Slot 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Asus M4A88T-M AMD 880G (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
Antec High Current Gamer 620W Power Supply
Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black
G.Skill RipJaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C8 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ)
LG GH22NS50 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM

The system above is very capable, and with a 650w power supply, room to upgrade if needs be.

Do,most pc's built a few years ago are still very capable as games are becoming easier to max on lower priced parts

To be honest I'm building mine mainly for Battlefield 3 but I'm going overboard aswell because I love gadgets and I use my pc to make money ha

6870 is a little better than the 460 iirc and the CPU is a little better than the i7 930,2nd gen sandybridge are a good bit ahead of it.

But my board will support buldozer when it arrives
