Hi all,

As per previous thread, I think we can all agree that we need MOAR pics of our cars on the site. We are a small community so we need to repizent ourselves. I'm no stranger to a camera and I know Tattitude isn't either so there are no shortage of snappers.

As Spanky pointed out, we should meet somewhere central, not neccessarily in Offaly, but wherever in central between everyone interested (which could well be Offaly!)

Tattitude also pointed out that an industrial site would be best and I defintely agree, any car pics I've taken in the past (www.flickr.com/photos/stephenhartnett) have always been away from nature if possible. They just don't blend in my opinion.

Anyway, waffle aside. Names please!

Count me in on this one also provided I still got me 2. I agree that nature and cars should remain two seperate entities, when shooting for Modified Motors, the first thing the boys from Max Power told us was never photograph a car on grass, it looks gash. That said, moving shots on tarmac with plenty of road always look great, particularly when blown up to poster size, if you cherish your car then this is worth considering.
If anyone has an estate car preferably with a sunroof and wouldn't mind it being used for the photographers then we'll get some magazine shots on the day methinks
I'll try to dig out some samples from my days with the mag and post them here to whet your appetites

Ok, well I'm going to guess that people's weekends are probably the best.

Provisionally can we say Saturday 4th of Feb? If this is unsuitable for most of the group, we can change, but 2 weeks is plenty of time

And ideally, ready to take photos at 4pm, so there for 2pm?

And, looking at everyone's location, would Mullingar, Athlone or Tullamore suit people? It's as central as we can get I think!

If you guys want to use Mullingar I can get us an underground car park Just I case weather is bad ... My mate is security there and there is a second level down that's never used in the penny s car park we can have that no problem ...

Just a thought - a lot of people have the first Sunday of every month "booked" off for C&C. Okay, it'd mean mising C&C but many might not be able to get the Sat & Sun off. Plus, I'd give up the C&C for this - looks like a great turnout

With respect to Japohara a car park works well for the likes of C&C but if we're doing photography, particularly moving shots on the day then outdoor really is the only way to go guys...IMHO

Ok well there are plenty of lakes around Mullingar .... I know of loads of places that will make a nice backdrop

Actually, Spidey makes a very good point about the first Sunday, this could be done instead of. Would moving this to Sunday 5th of Feb be a big hassle for everyone?

I really like shooting in underground car parks, so we could maybe rendezvous somewhere, get the moving shots (as tattitude suggested), and then some close ups in the car park? Does anyone maybe know of any open, large industrial estates in that part of the country with friendly security?

Possible biggest MR2.ie meet coming up here folks, if you're in between coming and staying at home, get that ass off the sofa!

Ok Folks I run a business in Mullingar so I know everyone around the town .. Lakeland Security do 90% of the Industrial Estates Around the town so i will have a word with Joe and see who is working that day ... Sunday is a better day for doing stuff in an industrial estate cos all the business are closed ... I would suggest Lough Sheever ... Where all the Car garages are in mullingar .. Its pretty empty apart from that and lots of little car parks ...

Just tell me what you guys are looking for and I will make it happen ...
