I think Argos sells them too. I don't know what they are like for quality.

Other suggestions,

Extra locks would also help.

Motion sensor lights might be useful for the cctv.

And my favourite, an axe handle . . . .. . . ouch

This guy is really annoying but he throws out an interesting idea about tracking your car via gps cheaply

Totaly understand your concern ...

Friend has B&Q one and it works fine for him, + monitor in main bedroom closet.

In my Opinion being carefull at all times. Have neibours look after each other.
Disable your car when you know you won't use it for longer piriod.

When it comes to House and car a the same time,

cctv and light sound good , but smurfster robber kiler looks most convicnig for me.
I Had similar back home, We were going togeter to charity events where kids were making photos, rolling over him and ride him, but in danger always was up to the task and saved my bud fiew times.

Other things I have heard or came across:

Loud Bang on the door and no one there - scummers checking if alarm is armed
Doggy van in area - simple
Bell on the door - you answer an 2 guys ask you about the sofa you want gone, you say you don't know anything - they say oops wrong adress - well you were lucky to be home.

NO Car and house keys or any thing valuble on the table beside door,
Take your laptop upstairs, don't flash your equipment in living room.
and much more thing like this

Alot to thing about but... well times are like this at the moment, someone tell me how closing 30-40 garda stations is supposed to help this ?
