Alarm Output TVSS 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 56
Hi guys,

I'm looking to wire in an accessory as part of the TVSS III-B alarm(factory alarm) on a Mk2 MR2.

Basically what I need is the Alarm output wire prefebably in the drivers cabin that turns to +12v when the alarm siren is activated (can be negative as well).

Does anything spring to mind:

Heres some wiring diagrams that may help:

Cheers lads.

Cheers man think I cracked it:

From the wiring diagram:

T5 THEFT DETERRENT ECU

18–GROUND: APPROX. 12 VOLTS WITH SYSTEM ON AND IGNITION SW ST POSITION
0 VOLTS WITH SYSTEM OPERATED

Its a black/red cable I suppose I will have to break out the multimeter and see when its dry and I'm not heading to meets

Found the proper TVSS wiring diagram to work off, ,might be of use to some one.

Its the TVSS IV diagram but they haven't changed the basic alarm much (I got a TVSS V siren for my TVSS III-

Was going to wire this up today but decided to have a lazy day instead

RESULT : My car will call my mobile and text me when the alarm has been activated

Just need to put everything back together now...sorry about missing the meet

FYI: On the TVSS system its the black / silver cable (pin 3 I think). I had it working on the red/white wire but everytime I opened the door it sent me a text

Easiest way to find the cable on any alarm system (without stripping wires) is to jam a paper clip into the plug of the various alarm ECU pins and use a multimeter to measure the voltage at various conditions (i.e Alarm on, off, doors open, etc).

Basically what I needed was a wire that when the alarm was activated it carried a 0V voltage for 3 seconds or more. (you can use a relay on positively triggered alarms)....well thats Saturdays job sorted!

Everything is soldered, wrapped and back together in the car now..I couldn't get the call function working and I figured it out..it was timing out on the o2 low credit warning

Heres a video of it in action: call & sms kicks in after 3 seconds: (Please excuse "the Blair witch project" style filming )
